Has Threads Fallen Off Already (Shocking Data)!? | The Friday Club | Ep 247

On Monday?Similarweb released some interesting insights, one data point showed how Threads' daily active users had dropped from 49 million to 23.6 million in a week.

Mark Zuckerberg came back?by saying that Threads is seeing, 'tens of millions?of people return to the app daily'.

My take: It's very early days for Threads & it's usual for new social platforms to have huge initial hype. However, if Threads wants to compete with Twitter, they need to evolve the platform's features to provide a compelling reason to spend time there (which they don't currently have).

In other news...

- I enjoyed watching?this guy share his equipment setup?to work anywhere in the world remotely.

- July has been a pretty crazy month for winning new business. Speaking to other Agency owners it's clear that we're in a tough market right now & after a more challenging couple of months it's nice to hit some pretty wild new business numbers in July. We put a lot of focus into shaking up our strategy & it seems to be paying off! If you're struggling to generate new business right now, I highly recommend revisiting your strategy. The simplest starting point...look at how you spend your marketing time/resource & cut out the things that aren't generating a return & do more of the things that are. Super basic but it's a good place to start!

- So proud of the team after?Cameo Apples signed up to work with us for the 5th year in a row!

- We also?kicked off our project?supporting smarTrike to launch their Xtend Line into the Uk which is exciting!

- I enjoyed doing my first speaking gig for a while at The Marketing Meetup event in Ashford on Monday. I was pretty rusty & it's given me a kick up the ass to do more prep for my upcoming speaking gigs which I'm excited for!

Thought for the day:?Please, please, please NEVER do this on LinkedIn...

Is it just me that gets put off by automated LinkedIn messages? Maybe I’m too sensitive. Here are some of the giveaways...

? Sharing what you do if I haven’t asked

? Nothing truly personal to me

? The message includes a URL

? “I’m looking to grow my network”

? “I saw we have similar interests”

? “I’m looking to connect with like-minded...”

? “Your profile caught my eye”

? The message includes “synergy”

? The message includes “mutually beneficial”

Wow, reading this back I sound like a right grumpy fart.

Oh well, maybe this helps someone.

What grinds your gears on LinkedIn?

Happy Friday!! ??

My particular concern is the moderation of hate speech and misinformation, and Meta is unsurprisingly going down the same pitfalls as on its other platforms. https://www.mediamatters.org/facebook/far-right-figures-including-nazi-supporters-anti-gay-extremists-and-white-supremacists-are

It lasted a week. Not opened it since. Mind I barely use social now for personal life. I am back to living life and see no need to tell a world that isn't interested about what I do. I'm feeling socials are dying out
