Has it come to this?

Needing a disclaimer to validate what a human author wrote through sheer storytelling talent vs wondering if this is a byproduct of Jasper or ChatGPT?

Hmmm… I don’t know, but here is what I do know.

It’s a tool.

And just like any tool – power tool or software application – the mastery still lies within the person using it.

We all have amazing cameras on our phones, but that has not removed the need for professional photographers like Andrew Darlow and Darren Modricker who understand lighting, focus, and photo composition.

We can stream movies to any number of devices, yet the allure of drive-in theatres remains and my friends Lauren McChesney and Matthew McClanahan just happen to own the oldest drive-in movie theatre in the US!?

Garbage in. Garbage out.

As with any data process, the output is only as good as the input. It’s not the end all be all. It appears from what I’ve read that you need to be masterful in what you ask it to do.

And here’s the most important thing…Thought leadership comes from within, from the act of doing the writing itself.?

It can not be handed off to an algorithm searching the internet for other people’s content to be rescrambled. Expertise conveyed through your words comes from your successes and failures, your experiences, and your unique perspective.

Writing is honed through doing the hard work and requires you, ‘Grasshopper’, to do the work of making it your own. (Who remembers who used that term of endearment?)

Kate Bonnycastle, word nerd and copywriter , my colleague and ‘Tense’ Coach as I have lovingly dubbed her, has done a deep dive on this frenzied infatuation surrounding bot-writing. She has a way with words and they are her “AI” – Always Impactful.

We live in a technology-driven world – no denying it. Technology has its place, but it should never replace being human.

Hey Lori, thanks for the mention in the post. Light is everything. It’s hard to describe but you’ve got to feel the light. Sometimes it’s seeing how the natural light is fallen on something or using strobe lighting and just being in tune with how the lighting will feel. We use a lot of different light sources and it definitely keeps us inspired to keep mixing it up and staying fresh. Thanks again for the mention.

Thank you so much for mentioning us in your article! People have access to streaming services from home, but they still venture out to the drive-in for the experience. People like authenticity and creativity and nostalgia. I imagine AI is going to have a similar effect. It will make some tasks easier and more efficient, but just like you said, it's not going to be able to replace the authenticity and insight of a real person.
