Has Failure Taught us Anything About Success?

Earlier today, I read a post from a friend which I really resonated with.

It was about the current climate of doing business especially on Facebook with what she called a chasing energy.

You know the post’s those chasing status, trying to impress, the look at me.

As someone who geeks out on how people, businesses and brands put their work, messages and themselves out into the world (and why they don’t), this particular post peaked my interest.

I will of course, approach this through the lens of visibility, that is, what it takes to be visible AND to have your work, brand and business not only seen, but known, not only known, but to have your message resonate, with more and new people who likely haven’t heard of you yet or know about what you do.

A lot of people with businesses dislike being on social media, regardless of what they’re saying or posting. This isn’t a sweeping statement or a subjective view, I know this because in a lot of the conversations I have, people specifically express their dislike, exhaustion or distain.

Most people feel like they have to be there because they’re in business, they think it’s a way to demonstrate their success and with that comes the public display of wealth and riches through displays of homes, business class flight seats and in some cases fancy clothes, cars, and things.

Many people feel like they can emulate others they see on socials, pouting into a smartphone screen, filtering the fudge out of their selfie shots or having the perfect teeth, accent, face and life.?

Like me, my friend expresses that it is no life to live whether you’re in business or leadership and remember that leadership could be of the self, your kids, your teams, your clients, your friends and your families.?

My friend says…

It is the complete opposite of how Conscious Living, Leadership & Business are.
When you omit a 'Chasing' Energy.......money, status, trying to impress, look at me, power... blah blah you are coming from a very specific energetic vibration. Annette Khepri ???

For those of you who might be balking at the energetic vibration part, think?instead about how someone feels or comes across, their vibe or that feeling you get about someone.

Think about this…

When it comes to our thoughts and feelings of what we deem to be a success or failure we’ll often chase for success and when we see others doing it, we presume that it’s because it works and they’re hitting to out of the park.

It’s time to buck the conventional and fail more, because failing teaches us so much including ways for success… our ways.

Since 2017, I paid closer attention to how to do it differently and found out something that startled me.

I began the process of examining how people were being advertised to and marketing themselves, I discovered that many were being pushed into buying, shamed through the selling process and devalued through artificial discounting.

The market although it wanted and needed another way, wasn’t always ready for another or a?different way.

It was as if the conditioning was so engrained, so embedded that people felt lost without it.

I started to experience how it leaked out, failure wasn’t on the part of the willing participant it was the insights of some shocking behaviours that showed up on some of the ego centric sales calls too, on a regular basis I hear of the harm from these types of promotions and conversations.

If we’re willing to learn through our failures Or willing to fail in order to be a success.

We can use discernment when we’re being visible too.

I often have an ear on what’s really going on, internally, and have you ever noticed that I never share this in the guise of ‘content is king?’.

When it comes to being visible for your clients, they’re people with their own outcomes and own perspectives, not ‘my clients’ or ‘my people’, so I’ll continue to:

  • Say no to making anybody do anything it’s about increasing their flow not force and those who are supposed to work with you and can work with you will find a way.

  • Say no to getting clients, when you push them they pull away just like in dating!

  • Say no to “fomo’ing” if they miss it this time they just miss it, their choice not yours

  • Say no to pitching people, one of the most successful pitches I ever made was where I asked one question and just 20 minutes I listened, that led to over £20,000 worth of work. Unless you’re on dragons den, or in conversation with a VC or a start up, you don’t ever need to pitch.

These are some of the ways I’m willing to learn and willing to ‘fail’ what about you?

Do No Harm. Sounds simple but in our current reality is something we are still far away from. The work is in the individual, collective conscious and humanity. Doing everything differently from a place of love not ego.
