It has been a while hasn't it? We have lots to catch you up on, and its all very exciting so lets cut to the chase...

Recent Collaborations

It has been an exciting few months of collaborations here at Cottam. If you missed it on our feed, an exciting project we have been working on since January was recently installed at 日产 manufacturing plant in Washington. The skillet brush systems were designed to clear debris from the skillet (the production line the cars move along) as the cars progress along the line. We are super happy to report that the production line has never stopped since the brushes were installed! More about this project is coming soon in the form of a case study so stay tuned for that!

In other collaborative news exciting work has been happening over at Teesside University as part of an Accelerated Knowledge Transfer through Innovate UK . The knowledge gathered as part of this AKT will help with R&D within the oil & gas industry...some very interesting initial findings...

In other news our factory refurb is in its final stages of completion and we had Cut Print Solutions in to install some new graphics around the place. We have even upgraded our hi vis jackets which are now purple and very 'on brand' so thank you to Masfix for sorting us out with those! Everything is starting to look really good around here ??

Our Team

We are very happy to welcome Kelly Gibbs to the Cottam team. Kelly joined us at the beginning of June as Sales Administrator. Kelly will support the Sales and Marketing team here at Cottam and has already fit into the team perfectly!

Back at the end of March Richard Anderson (also known as Richie around the factory) celebrated his 40 year service here at Cottam. During Richie's 40 year service he has had numerous roles and has recently just been appointed as 'Inspector' with a main focus to cover the inspection of goods/materials coming into Cottam as well as ensuring finished goods being despatched meet Cottam standards. Richie is the second member of the Cottam team to achieve 40 years of service, something Cottam is very proud of. The longevity of service within our team is a testament to our company's values ??

We also introduced Hayden Powell to the team and found out a little more about what he gets up to here at Cottam. Hayden has joined us as a Design Placement Student from 英国诺森比亚大学 and has been assisting our Head of Product Nick Palfreyman with some really exciting projects. Grounds Maintenance Campaign

We recently kicked off our Grounds Maintenance campaign with an interview with Sunderland AFC Head Groundsman, Glenn Campbell. In Other Exciting News...

You may be thinking our photography skills leave a lot to be desired but in fact this is all we can share at present on this exciting research and development project our design team have been working on. What we can let you in on is if you are after a brush that can tolerate extreme environments then this may be the brush for you...reach out to the team if this sounds like something you have been looking for!

Our MD, Alan Crook and Sales Manager, Susan Stewart also attended World Brush Expo at the end of May and got to see lots of new machinery which has led to further discussions here at Cottam about new machinery requirements, exciting!

We also hosted a Company Safari in partnership with Engineering and Manufacturing Network and had such a fun morning getting people to participate in their very own hand stitched brush. It was fantastic to invite people into the factory and allow people to see exactly what happens behind the scenes at a brush manufacturer. We look forward to hosting many more of these events in the future!
