Harvey under the microscope
Hurricane Harvey was the headline North American atmospheric event of 2017. While most of the news coverage centered on the Houston area - which suffered massive flooding, economic damage and the largest number of individuals affected - many other areas in Texas were impacted.
Rockport-Fulton in Aransas County was the landfall site, where Category Four winds destroyed 30 percent of structures. John Metz, Warning Coordination Meteorologist for the National Weather Service in Corpus Christi, created this PowerPoint. It details the early forecasts, goes through the impact and includes images you may not have seen before.
As 2017 wraps up, let's remember those still working to rebuild their lives, their communities, their economies and their sense of well-being.
