Harvest More Of What You Love in 2024

Harvest More Of What You Love in 2024

Today we talk about mental gardening. ????

And how our mental garden will not only produce whatever we plant.

But always is. We each live in the gardens of our mind.

And as the gardeners, we are always free to choose what grows!

So, whether you'd love to harvest some things in greater abundance.

Or just prefer not to see some things in your garden at all,

It's about preparing the soil, planting the seeds of what you'd love and lovingly nurturing what you've planted.

As always I hope you find this of value; thank you for being a subscriber and I wish you a Merry Christmas and a happy and prosperous New Year.

Love Rob

???Gardens flourish when they’re well planted and lovingly tended.??

?Pruning maintains shape and supports healthy growth.

?The soil doesn’t care.

?It’ll grow weeds and hemlock as easily as roses or tulips.?

?Seeds of weeds take root on their own if we let them.

?Blown in on the wind, often unnoticed, they’ll quickly establish wherever they find a space.

The soil doesn’t discriminate.

It grows all comers.

The Soil of The Mind is Precisely The Same.?

Infinitely fertile and infinitely abundant, it’ll grow whatever we plant.

EXCEPT FOR ONE THING.

It cannot grow lack.

Because lack doesn’t exist in nature...

And doesn't exist anywhere although it may appear to.

Nature is ONLY abundant so the mind only grows an abundance of whatever’s being planted.

Varieties of "not enough" or "this is hard" or "I've a problem" will flourish and grow in abundance in just the same way as varieties of "plenty", "easy", "healthy", etc.

As the gardeners of our own mental gardens, we’re free in every moment to choose whatever we wish to grow.

Even when it may absolutely not feel this way.

We grow in our garden in relation to where we place our awareness and the challenge for some gardeners is that they place their awareness on what they want to change!

There’s an infinite number and variety of seeds and weeds to choose from.?

Provided we’re conscious, we get to choose beautiful plants, flowers and trees.

To consciously choose what we'd love in our life and to plant these seeds in the soil of our subjective mind by accepting them.

And if we plant and prune diligently, our garden flourishes to show us our choices and we leave little or no space for weeds to settle or take root.

What’s even better with mental gardening is that whenever we spot a weed, we don’t need to pull it or kill it.

We may be tempted to but when it comes to mental gardening, that’s a costly mistake.

Instead, all we realy need do is choose what we’d prefer to plant or nurture.

And the mental weeds then die all on their own simply from being starved of our attention.

The soil of our mind is so unconditionally fertile, it’ll consistently and faithfully reveal to us whatever we plant.

Supporting us to become ever more conscious and aware and ever more skilled as both the gardener and owner of our mental garden.

To become increasingly conscious of the degree to which we really do have dominion over what appears above the ground in our world.

And increasingly conscious of when we are or have been inadvertently scattering weed seeds or watering them in with our awareness.

Every moment of every day provides us with a feast of new gardening choices.?

We always have a fertile plot without boundaries in which we are free to plant, nourish and play.?

And best of all, we get to smell the roses as we do.???

Rob Begg, thank you for writing such a brilliant article. Just as I finished my meditation session, turned off the music, and looked at my phone, I saw a LinkedIn notification. I checked to see what it was, and the headline, which was not the headline, grabbed my attention. MENTAL GARDENING FOR ALL SEASONS. Your words are very timely. I am preparing a podcast and have been studying the garden ?? of the soul and the plants ?? we allow to grow there. We are the gardeners of our world, our mental garden, and we can choose how and what we nurture in our garden. Weeds ??will always pop up to choke the plants??, and it's our choice to pull them out or leave them there. I am thankful for your timely message that you have such wisdom to share such an inspiring story about how we can make our Mental Gardens fruitful in all seasons. Once again, thank you for such a timely message.
