Most employees would fight to claim a VICTIM POSITION.
Managers, Bosses, Employers, HRs are seen as VILLAINS.
Having worked in the Corporate World in varied positions from an Entry Level to High Management, I have closely lived the trauma of being humiliated by my managers, and also my team members looking at me like an unfair, and inhuman manager.
Now, when I look back, and evaluate with no bias, I realize that I too had been playing the role of a toxic employee. I was also focusing on my own interests without doing anything much for the well being of my organization.
The moment we join a job, most of us think that our responsibility for our development and growth is over.?
And we start looking at our employers as parents who must spoon-feed us to make us feel comfortable, and secure our future, without us making a significant contribution to the success of the organization.
The fact is that businesses don’t run on charities. They have to generate revenues in order to run the business activities and pay their employees.
And it’s the collective responsibility of Employers and Employees both.
I have seen people doing the least possible just enough to save their jobs, and then expecting big raises and rewards.
And while working with Job Seekers, I have also observed a majority of job seekers irresponsibly behaving such as not showing up at interviews without any prior intimation.
I am not saying that toxic workplaces and insensitive bosses don’t exist. They definitely do exist, and intoxicate the work environments.
But that shouldn’t mean that we let them control our lives and careers by being infected with negativity that they pass over.
This means that we need to take even better control of our well being, and take positive action to find ourselves good-for-us work places.
Valuable Employees are valued (with some exceptions of course), and Managements want to reward them too.?
But you need to perform. You need to grow and develop. That's your responsibility.?

The sad truth is that we want to claim our rights without paying enough attention to our duties.
At the same time, there are insecure managers and bosses who might play dirty politics against you.?
But you know what?
This is not an ideal world, and it will never be.
What am I trying to say?
Take responsibility for your career, of your growth, and of your performance.
Who's fair, who’s not fair.. Is a controversial debate that would never end.
There are many big influencers on social media who are promoting anti-employers stuff, in order to be popular among the vast majority of the ‘self-proclaimed-victim’ population.?
And that’s unfortunate.
Let’s work to make this corporate world a thriving place for both parties - Employees and Employers.
Be a valuable Employee. Add Value. Look for solutions, rather than cribbing, complaining and blaming our organizations and bosses.?
Let’s develop an attitude of gratitude and appreciation.
And if you still don’t feel good within your organization, take a brave step and look for a more suited Job Position in a different company.?This ‘Victim Attitude’ is not at all serving you, trust me on that.
Your Career is Your Responsibility. Execute it the best you can.
