The harsh truth about branding (2022)

Alright, kids, you know about branding, right? Practically everyone who is online knows something about branding.

"I know a guy who knows a guy who knows a guy..." Yeah, I get it, Joey Diaz, we all are smart here.

But for starters, you're wrong. The above sentence isn't an example of branding. It's an example of networking.?

And branding simply means "The process by which you develop a strong perception of yourself and your company"


Mind you, I didn't say "Positive Strong Perception". And that's because the idea of being positive has been COMPLETELY DERAILED!

If you try to focus too much on making yourself, be more positive...then it will turn toxic. And that too very soon.

Instead, focus on branding yourself in such a way, that you attract your ideal crowd.

Focus on building "Cult of a Personality". Make your company larger than life.

Perhaps the best example for this is... well I can't use the name because I don't want to be forcefully disappeared. But a company where the only way you can buy its product is by selling your kidney.?

Every year they release a new product and thanks to their marketing they are always at the top... even though they have stopped innovating.?

And this is what brings us to our today's topic. The amazing world of "CORPORATE-BRANDING"

If in normal branding, you were the one who controlled your actions, here your entire company's reputation can rise or fall by a single action.

Sweet. I love the smell of despair in the morning.?

So, as we have already established, focus on building a strong perception of your company.

And start by asking the correct questions.

"What sort of content does my ideal client would like to read?"

"What sort of problems would my client have?

"I will I solve the problems of my ideal client?"

"What sort of problems do I EVEN want to solve? What kind of problems can I solve?"

These types of questions can do to things... either these questions will lead to more questions. And that's a great thing. More questions mean more answers.

Or

It will lead you to an existential crisis. Which is NOT okay.

?In all seriousness, these questions can take a long time for you to answer. Make sure to do the proper research on the subject while preparing your questions.

But the main question you have to ask yourself is "What are your company’s core values? How will your value differentiate you from others??

But most importantly, the main thing is that you just be true to yourself. And the company's vision should align with your vision.

This is a little different than most of the articles I have written simply because branding is a checklist that no one can tick.

It's an exam no one can prepare for. It is a letter no one can write.

Even most of the experts can at the end of the day just give you an educated opinion on this topic. That's all.


How you want to show yourself is on you.

I want to end the article by adding something that testicles and articles don't do. I want to tell you, that your work is okay. Have patience while you build your plan.

Rome wasn't built in a day. Neither will your brand. But the Roman empire lasted centuries, so will your brand.
