An insight into the parody of marketing and advertising.
Imagine you are a startup, and you have been looking at various firms and people getting featured, and someday you aspire to be the same. But, suddenly, harsh reality kicks in! You come across a mail in your inbox saying that you have been nominated for an award category. Similarly, a magazine asking you to get featured in their prestigious themed print media by paying an x amount. You get to know that a lump sum or per page is trending nowadays. But then you ask your conscience whether you deserve it??
I am writing to highlight the practices in marketing and advertising. If we talk about the real estate industry, to be specific, we come from a time where quality was judged by looking and assessing the building. As important as marketing and advertising to the industry, the same value resides in the fact that the owner justifies the accolades it adorns. It is essential to have a healthy competition and look at work that speaks.?
We start a new venture with loads of enthusiasm and a positive spirit to achieve something exceptional. We aim to outdo our competitors. But, is it right that we showcase awards and recognitions that we do not deserve to gain customers. If we look up to Oscar or Pulitzer, it is only because of the reputation it comes with.?
If we end up ‘buying’ what we should ‘earn’, it flips the equation.?

Would you be able to trust a company that is crutched by the very thought of gaining the trust of its customers by engaging in something untrustworthy??
I do not intend to make titles for the homepage to blame anyone as we are part of a society where if we even do not intend to, we are drawn towards something because we see others doing the same. But, if we keep ourselves on the right path, we will inspire others too. Let us have a new perspective towards a healthy working style and let us give a valid reason to outdo each other. Because in the end, you can definitely go faster with shortcuts but eventually success comes with the right actions.
