Harsh Conditions for Migrants in North Africa as they Seek a Path to Italy

#Italian Prime Minister, Giorgia Meloni, has been active in seeking the participation of #NorthAfrica nations to stop the flow of undocumented migrants moving into Europe and Italy in particular. This is a hot topic that has been a concern among politicians and large swaths of the Italian population. And now data is here to support the concerns of #Italy. A recent survey found that nearly 80% of migrants in Tunisia are exclusively interested in migrating to Italy. The finding may be intuitive given the geographical location of Tunisia and its proximity to Italy, but it also reflects that fact that Tunisia and the rest of the region are not seen as the final destination for most migrants.
