Harris Pye’s renowned expertise in boiler repairs for both the marine and offshore markets span beyond the confinements of working within the yards, especially with our recent successful boiler repair completions in both Singapore and China yards.
Going across our shores to Linggi, Malaysia; with the easing of the COVID-19 measures and pandemic, Harris Pye was tasked to conduct the boiler repairs for a Kangrim Type PB 40T/HR boiler with limited days in port whilst the main repair scope was being planned for the vessel’s voyage from Linggi to Fujairah Port, U.A.E.
On board the vessel commencing from Linggi port, the Harris Pye team mobilized all required manpower and material planned for the boiler repair with a detailed execution step-by-step plan verified with our esteemed client and operations crew. This was to ensure that all parties on board the vessel during the voyage were sufficiently prepared for the restrictions and obstacles faced for an outbound vessel boiler’s repair scope of work.
Spanning across a total of 27 days for the entire repair scope, HP informed our client that the 6 days spent in Linggi Port were to be without interruptions and interference to ensure material and manpower mobilization were adequately ready prior to vessel sail away scheduled for a 21-day voyage.
Mobilization of manpower into Linggi Port onboard the vessel with necessary approvals, material procurement, preparation and fabrication of the required tubes and refractory material progressed onward despite stringent travel, logistical arrangement of material movement and manpower restrictions across borders from our fabrication facility in Singapore.
Once again, having complete and succinct agreement on scopes and responsibilities from works in port and works to be done in situ during the sailing phase with our Client from the start allowed the HP team to trudge through an enduring 21 days completion sailing schedule with our signature approach of systematic and methodical boiler repair expertise as listed below:
