HARP Extension and New Streamlined Refi Program

Today, Freddie Mac, Fannie Mae and their regulator, the Federal Housing Finance Agency (FHFA) announced a new Streamlined Refinance Offering for current borrowers who owe more than their properties are worth.  This new program will not be available to borrowers until October 2017.

In the meantime, the two Government Sponsored Enterprises (GSE's) have extended the Home Affordable Refinance Program (HARP) through September 30, 2017.

Now there will be more opportunities for your clients and those whose loans are owned by Freddie Mac or Fannie Mae to refinance even though their properties are underwater.
