Over the weekend, I read a book by Dr. Joseph Murphy titled "The Power of Your Subconscious Mind." I found the book intriguing because it delves into the force of our subconscious mind. It illuminates how harnessing this power can manifest positive changes in one's life. Given my personal experiences over the last three to four years, I found it personally relevant and thought it would be beneficial to share some lessons here on LinkedIn.
One interesting point was the role of the subconscious mind. The subconscious mind is a powerful tool that can automate responses and manifest desires when utilized effectively. It's always active, unlike the conscious mind, and absorbs information without judgment.
Another point is the use of positive affirmations. Something like telling oneself that 'I am good enough to achieve what I am chasing'. Repeating positive affirmations can reprogram the subconscious mind, leading to improved self-esteem and the achievement of one's goals.
A very interesting point related to visualization - Visualizing success, visualizing an elusive mountain peak, can help embed positive outcomes in our subconscious mind. This, in itself, is the first step towards actually achieving those outcomes in reality.
Next, we have belief systems. In many ways, certain belief systems and negative experiences impact our performance by shaping our reality. It is vital to address and amend negative belief systems.
When it comes to forgiveness, forgiving ourselves and others, as well as letting go of past resentments, can free the subconscious mind to manifest a positive reality.
That said, here are the top five quotes I found in this amazing book:
领英推荐
1. "Change your thoughts and change your destiny."
2. "Your subconscious mind does not argue with you. It accepts what your conscious mind decrees."
3. "The law of life is the law of belief."
4. "As you sow in your subconscious mind, so shall you reap in your body and environment."
5. "Whatever your conscious mind assumes and believes to be true, your subconscious mind will accept and bring to pass."
To conclude, this book significantly underlines the premise that by changing one's thoughts and beliefs at the subconscious level, an individual can change their circumstances and overall life's trajectory. It's filled with practical advice and techniques to harness the power of the subconscious mind effectively. With a mixture of affirmations, visualizations, and other mental exercises, Dr. Murphy provides a roadmap to unlock a life full of potential. I highly recommend this read.

6 个月Joseph Murphy, the author of The Power of Your Subconscious Mind, met Swami Sivananda, the founder of Divine Life Soceity in Rishikesh. In the early 1940s, Murphy traveled to India, where he spent time studying under Swami Dr Sivananda at his ashram in Rishikesh. Swami Sivananda, a renowned spiritual teacher, greatly influenced Murphy’s thinking and spiritual practices. This meeting was pivotal in shaping Murphy’s understanding of the power of the mind and his subsequent teachings on positive thinking and the subconscious. Hence, one who admires and likes Murphy's works may hugely benefit from Swami Sivananda's books like "Thought-Power", "Mind --- It's Mysteries and Control", "Conquest of Mind", and "Concentration and Meditation".?
