There exists a constant interaction between art and science. In this article I'll explore how piano music meets the precision of data analysis. How, when combined, piano performance, composition, and even audience engagement show studiable numerical patterns and trends that provide insight on the science of art.

What is the science behind piano performance?

Every piano performance is filled with data. From the speed and force of each keystroke, to the timing between notes, a pianist's technique can be broken down into measurable numbers.
