The Purpose:
?
Our client, Craveable brands, is an organisation that owns iconic Australian food brands. Amicus had already been engaged for both Workplace Strategy and the Design and Construct of their Sydney offices and throughout this journey a training opportunity was identified to skill up leaders and staff on hybrid and flex to be more effective.
?
The Brief:
Craveable brands aimed to instill practices that would make a positive impact on their workforce's ability to seamlessly navigate both remote work and their new office environment. The challenge was to create a training solution that was not only insightful but also succinct enough to integrate into employees' busy schedules, and be timed with one state’s imminent office move.
Crafting the Solution:
?
We designed a two-fold training program: "Thriving in a Hybrid Team" and "Connections & Rituals." These modules catered to both the general workforce and the leadership team, acknowledging their distinct roles in shaping the organization's new work culture. We leveraged Microsoft Teams as the platform.
?
Module Highlights: Building Strong Foundations
?
1. Connections & Rituals: Fostering Human Connection
?
This module delved into the essential human need for connection. It introduced participants to the concept of the "Connection Pyramid," outlining four levels of connection. By the end of the session, participants were equipped with actionable insights to enhance and integrate meaningful rituals into their hybrid work routines.

2. Thriving in a Hybrid Team: Navigating Work Styles
?
"Thriving in a Hybrid Team" offered an exploration of work style preferences and their influence on successful hybrid work dynamics. The module incorporated self-assessment activities focused on thinking, talking, and presenting styles, providing participants with a deeper understanding of their individual preferences. The training highlighted how these insights could be leveraged for improved collaboration and performance, both for leaders and non-leaders.
?
Approaches for Engaging Learning:
?
Multimodal Interaction: The training embraced various modes of interaction, encouraging participants to engage through text, gifs, and avatars. This approach facilitated active participation and kept attendees engaged throughout the sessions, contributing to a more engaging learning experience.
?
The Connection Pyramid: By introducing the concept of the Connection Pyramid, the training program moved beyond surface-level discussions of connection. It also enabled participants to grasp the significance of fostering relationships at various levels, and identify which level of connection they were offering to others.
?
The Relationship Thermometer: By introducing the concept of the Relationship Thermometer, participants considered who should they interact with at work, then mapped these colleagues based on the current state of the relationship’s ‘temperature’.
Individual to Collective Growth: Each module included individual reflection activities then concluded with a post-workshop activity on how these insights could be applied within teams. This bridged the gap between individual development and collective growth.
?
Positive Outcome:
?
The training program achieved high engagement levels, with active participation. Attendance numbers ranged from ~20 to ~60 in each of the 4 sessions. This demonstrated the appetite for knowledge and the commitment of the workforce to embrace the hybrid work model, and new office.
