Hark, what through yon window breaks? It is bacon…
Those who know me are well aware of my fondness for bacon, the perfect meat. Tasty, tasty bacon. As one fellow opined on a cooking show, “Bacon is a gateway meat for vegetarians.” Be forewarned.
Since we are heading into the Memorial weekend, this will be a precisely timed and short post so you can be sure to have bacon for your weekend grilling needs.
Let me start out with a link to a page rating the top bacons. I am definitely on the hunt for these though they left out my personal favorite, Neuskes applewood smoked. Even though a Wisconsin company, I first encountered this masterpiece of pork belly goodness in Brooklyn, NY at a sour beer tasting with my son.
And if you have a hankering for something other than your burgers, steaks, salads (green and potato), garnishing anything and everything to put bacon on, check out this tasty concoction; corn grilled with bacon, chives, cheddar cheese, and ranch dressing. It is on my menu for sure.
It is Memorial Day so take time to give thanks for all those men and women who have given us the freedoms we enjoy, up to losing their lives. Freedom is not free and any who believe it is are destined to lose theirs. God Bless America.
