Day 3 OTC 2015
As days one and two come to a close and we begin day three at OTC 2015, I have observed some things about our great city.
No matter what, we show up.
It doesn't matter what the forecast says, rain or shine, Houston business shows up. As we entered OTC 2015, we have had some recent paradigm shifts in the world oil economy. Many key oil and gas businesses have begun mass lay-offs and uncertainty fills the air.
What does that mean to us here in Houston? It means we dig in, we dig deep and we look for outside the box opportunities. I've met business leaders who continue to greet with firm handshakes and hopeful countenances. We see a forward looking OTC with the new d5 program, designed to spark creativity and innovation in the offshore energy industry. It will include thought-provoking presentations focused on business, technology, and people. It's about not doing business as usual. The world watches how we handle change, because international business knows eventually, the ripples of change will reach them.
I see our friends at PEMEX, opening the doors of opportunity to the world with the hopes of creating a world class economy and a better future for the people of Mexico.
It all takes place in Houston. Here I am with Sheriff Adrian Garcia at the PEMEX OTC reception. Sheriff Garcia is walking the walk for his city. Welcoming business to Houston and showing the world that Houston is a safe, inclusive and progressive, multicultural place to do business.
I'm proud to be a part of something so big and wonderful and no matter what, we show up.
Houston, es la cede de las nuevas oportunidades de negocio. #OTC2015
