Hardware Evaluation and Testing Services with or without Certification

Hardware in form of #Hardwaresecuritymodules, #smartcards or #secureelements (#IC) are used to provide a tamper resistant hardware platform to perform

? securely hosting of applications (e.g. banking applications)

? Storage of confidential data (identity market may hold biometric data)

? storage of cryptographic keys (secure channel and secure transactions)

? compute cryptographic functions

for all kind of sensitive data, such as credit cards, government documents (#eID), health cards, automotive, ticketing, digital banking or mobile security.

Security and reliability are indispensable for these applications and products, and therefore #Hardwaretests play a critical role here.

The framework conditions for the evaluation and measurement methods are determined either by international standards and specifications, such as #CommonCriteria, #FIPS PUB 140-3, specifications of the national and international credit services sector #EMVCo, Mastercard CAST, VISA VCSP, #GBIC (Die Deutsche Kreditwirtschaft), #FIDO, or individually if required.

#TüViT performs the tests as an independent evaluation body either for vendors to achieve #certification or as consulting service, and also provides advice and guidance on schemes and processes.
