THE HARD WAY OR THROUGH SELF DEVELOPMENT ? MY JOURNEY AS A HUMANITARIAN ...

Since my debut in the Human Resources field back in 2011, I had one of the most powerful weapon hidden in my being, something numerous professionals didn't nurture because of their focus on unnecessary matters wasting time asking their selves the wrong questions; the worst question ever : WHAT IF I FAIL ?

You will never know if you don't make any research, you won't have an answer is you don't ask the right question. Political Situation, the employment Market rose considerably after the Earthquake; Great people found Jobs they wouldn't even imagine they'd have, because of a connection, because of a family member in high Position, because they did help without expecting anything in return, because they just showed their willingness to learn and to apply what they were taught. I have seen people rising like stars in getting positions, promotions, I have even seen people hating on each other, setting up each other choosing the expediency path instead of working hard to win or deserve an award.

My mind made a lot of things possible in my life... Some of my parents probably didn't understand my career projection during high school, I was just curious and wanted to join 3 fields instead of being a teacher as I was raised in a family where every single member worked as teacher in the school we had serving the community for over 50 years in Haiti. Through my 2 years of Industrial Chemistry, 2 years in Business Administration ( Associate Level) , Medical Technology and around 7 years as an instructor recruited by one of the most popular school of medical technology and of course by the family school, I have learned one precious thing : PEOPLE. Yes People, their thoughts, their perception, their flaws, their need to learn, to improve, to grow, to be a difference in their community. I started to practice one of the most important in the HR field : Human Relations.

ANYTHING HAPPENS FOR A REASON ! a few years back I did apply for a translator or a medical technologist position in a well known Hospital, I was even ready to accept a Phlebotomist position, but again the raise of employment on the market caused an overpopulation in the recruitment sector. I had this one contact who was by simple coincidence a recruiter for IFRC, she call me at the moment where my life was at the lowest point ever. I got offered a translator Position, short term contract 3months for German Red Cross, a project implemented in the West of Haiti, a local neighborhood called ARCAHAIE. It was the Cholera Outbreak in Haiti, the source of that outbreak in that area was located in the area of Petite Rivière where people going in the mountains then go down to Arcahaie on market days, We were the Stoppers of that spread and guess what ... I was the only Translator going in meeting with the Government alongside the Germans & African Delegates. My skills, Curiosity, willingness to work hard and late to meet my deadline rewarded of several promotions from Human Resources Clerk to Assistant to the Project Manager. After a years facing the cultural Danger in the area, the youngest and Supervisor of Locals, My first daughter almost born, I have made the best decision ever to be around my family and start a new Chapter with Sean Penn's Organization which established the first and biggest Camp in Petion-Ville Club J/P Haitian Relief Organization. I started to work as an Administrative Assistant in the HR department, it took me less than 3 months to be on top of my position and was the only man of the department. I worked and grew considerably in the Department, 2 promotions, Employee of the month, responsible of Employee Rerlations and Benefits Management then Recruitment I was aiming being the Manager of the Department, but again after 3 years... I was even more curious to explore other area, more strategic. I was called by IFRC for the position of HR Officer for Performance Evaluation and Training Development which I accepted. I also obtained a position in Fonkoze Financial as Human Resources Specialist for the North Zone of the country ( 24 Branches with a size of 400 Employees). With all this knowledge I nurtured the ambition to create until now...

I am actually seeking for a position here in New York and I am thinking Strategic or Recruitment, no matter what it will be Human Resources is what I was built to practice.
