Hard Throbbing Penetrating Thoughts, Thoreau, and Ye

"I learned this, at least, by my experiment: that if one advances confidently in the direction of his dreams, and endeavors to live the life which he has imagined, he will meet with a success unexpected in common hours."

— Henry David Thoreau (Walden: Or, Life in the Woods)

Good morning Tuesday. You look beautiful this morning. I like what you’ve done with your weather, nice change. 6:30 a.m., working back to my 5:00 a.m. wake time. I’ll get there by Thursday, important 7;00 a.m. meeting, looking forward to connecting with my tribe.

So, I’ve decided on my next book title, I was tailgating in a parking lot waiting on an UBER when my friend Brian asked me about what it might be. I like to be a little edgy, the title “Hard, Throbbing, Penetrating Thoughts” hit me and I shared it, Brian laughed, I knew that was my new title.

I’ve got enough content now, I could publish, but I think I’ll wait until my normal published date of October, that gives me plenty of time to work on new and better material.   Once I publish this book I’ll put out a box set of my last four, I try and mimic the music industry as much as possible.

I have a process I use when I write, I pen my thoughts and then use a keyword search on Google to find my article imagery for social media.  I typed in the title of my book, and I don’t think I’ll be able to use any images recommended by Google.

I have another friend Nancy, that does my book covers. I sent her the title, asked that she be creative, but told her not to use Google Image search, I already tried, and it was not pretty. I’m confident Nancy will come up with a cover that is in line with the thought but maybe a little bawdy.

Our daughter sold her first account with our firm. She has not been with us for 30 days, as soon as she joined us, she began cold calling. She found this $5000.00 or so revenue account, she and her Mother worked on it, we got a down payment yesterday.

It’s impressive; I think the first of many, its fun watching your child have success and fun while earning a living. She will be a good representative of our brand.

If you are a regular reader of my work, you know that I use a quote to start and end every blog. I use a site called Goodreads; it’s a great way to connect my message with the past and usually gives me a little fuel to help drive home by my thoughts.

The site allows for a keyword search, this morning, I typed in “success,” that’s what I’m feeling, and I found the above Thoreau quote. I’ve been using a few Thoreau lately, I should probably start reading his work, his quotes resonate with me, maybe his body of work might as well.

So, my friend, move toward your dreams. Think big, bawdy, crazy dreams, and then inch towards that life. You can have any life you choose, but first, you must dream it.  If you are struggling to think big, I do have a worksheet I developed years ago that can help you outline your thoughts and set goals or dreams. It’s free for the taking; I’ll share it with you, just send me a message.

You can work in, or you can work on your life. It is your choice. It’s like owning a company, some people work in and some work on their business, I am now part of the latter group.  Yes, I still work for the company, but I’m the guy in the back room tweaking the nobs, checking the gauges, making sure we have enough coal for our engines.

The same logic works in one’s personal life. Start working on yourself, how can you improve, how can you get better? What is it that is holding you back from massive success? Only you know and only you can set your trajectory on a path that will make you happy, wealthy, and wise.

Make this day a day to remember. When was the last time you had a day that you looked back on and thought, “now that was a great day”? Today is an opportunity to change everything, change your life, your idea of who you can be, or where you want to go. Endeavor to find what you are looking for, and soon, very soon, ye shall find it.

"I learned this, at least, by my experiment: that if one advances confidently in the direction of his dreams, and endeavors to live the life which he has imagined, he will meet with a success unexpected in common hours."
