Hard Skills for Recruitment.
When looking to fill a vacant position in your company, the most important aspect to consider is the skill set of the potential employee. It is essential to find someone with the necessary skills to do the job, and who can also be trained for any additional required skills. But what exactly are hard skills? And how do you go about evaluating them in potential employees?
When recruiting new employees, many organizations look for individuals with specific hard skills. But is focusing exclusively on hard skills really the best way to identify the most qualified candidates? In this essay, I will argue that while hard skills are important, they should not be the only factor considered when assessing potential employees.
Hard skills are specific abilities or know-how that are required for a certain task or profession. They can be learned through education or on-the-job training, and are often measurable or quantifiable. Some common examples of hard skills include writing code, using software programs, repairing machinery, welding metal together, etc. There is no question that hard skills are important in the workplace. They allow employees to carry out specific tasks and contribute to the organization's goals. However, relying exclusively on hard skills can lead to some problems. For one thing, it can be difficult to determine how well someone will perform in a particular role based solely on their qualifications. Another issue is that technology and other advancements often make certain hard skills obsolete fairly quickly.

When it comes to evaluating hard skills in potential employees, there are a few key things you need to look for. Firstly, is the skill something that is essential to the job itself? Or is it simply an added bonus that would make life easier for the employee and/or boss? Secondly, how easy is it to measure this skill? Can you quantify it in some way (e.g., the number of years of experience needed)? Finally, does this skill require special training or education?
