I am publishing this on behalf of Pittsburgh Sam:
Jim Frio's Revolution Championship Boxing was active Saturday evening 9/3/22. The indoor event took place at the West Virginia Penitentiary in Moundsville, WV (a non-active criminal housed facility). Mike Murray was the Matchmaker and successfully gave all in attendance a nice mixture of various level fights. The card had ten amateur fights of which one was a kickboxing bout and the Main Event was a Professional Boxing ABF Cruiserweight Title fight (Jaime Chesney onsite ABF representative presiding).
Fight Results:
1st Fight Amateurs:
145 lbs. - 3 Rd's (2 min.)
Nathan Kalfut / Grayson Hotstetter
Close competitive fight could of went either way Kalfut went home with the W.
2nd Fight Amateurs:
155 lbs. - 3 Rd's (2 min.)
Ayden Griffith / Brandon Swaney
Highly intense action packed offenssive WAR! Swaney has the heart of a true champion. He endured the massive onslaught Griffith put on him. He held his hands high covering his face pretty darn good. Even though lots of punches got through Swaney's defense, he let Griffith know there was no quit in him and no matter what I am moving forward coming at you. Griffith was the more skilled fighter, offenssive wise, and undoubtedly landed the higher volume of hard punches and for that he righteously received the win.
This writer saw a tie for "Fight of the Night" and these two fighters were definitely in contention to claim that right.
3rd Fight Amateurs (Kickboxing):
145 - 150 lbs. 3 Rd's (2 min.)
Bryce Barcus / Connor Foit
To look at the two combatants Barcus was hands down the more physically fit fighter. Credit Foit, he proved it's not what you got but how you use it and he hung tough from start to finish showing good resistance throughout. This was a close fight and the right man won, Bryce Barcus.
4th Fight Amateurs:
180 lbs. - 3 Rd's (1 min.)
Caleb Henry / Benjamin Myers
Myers started aggressively and was the more regimented fighter. Henry fought with a countering mentality in an unorthodox fashion that worked for him enough to have his arm raised after 3 full rounds.
5th Fight Amateurs:
HeavyWt's. - 3 Rd's (2 min.)
Cory Toth / Jose Santiago
One has to appreciate the enthusiasm and hunger for a win Toth showed in this fight. He brought it to Santiago from the start. Santiago showed sparse resistance. When Referee Tim Shipley seperated the fighters at one point he said something to Santiago and his response to Shipley's mention was obvious, he could not continue. It was at the 1:12 mark of the first round that the fight was officially declared over. Winner by TKO an exuberant rope climbing Cory Toth.
6th Fight Amateurs:
140 - 142 lbs. 3 Rd's (2 min.)
Justin Fillipone / Dre Daniels
This fight was evenly matched. Fillipone maybe moved forward towards Daniels a little more than the reciprocate. The punch output possibly favoring Fillipone but ever so close to even. There was no knockdowns but at the end of the first round Fillipone's right glove touched the canvas from what Referee Brian Hiles ruled an off balance push/ slip. This was an extremely close fight and Fillipone got the nod for the win.

7th Fight Amateurs:
155 - 157 lbs. 3 (2 min. Rd's)
Cal Kildow / Ritchie Loew
This was a one-sided affair from the start. That one side belonged to Kildow. Loew managed to get a couple/few retaliation punches off but the righteous call was made by Referee Tim Shipley at 1 minute and 57 seconds into the first round. Loew disputed the call to no avail.
Winner Cal Kildow TKO1.
8th Fight Amateurs:
165 lbs. - 3 Rd's (2 min.)
Victor Velequez / Darryn Garnes
This was an explosive fight. Velequez initiated the spark causing that explosiveness. Velequez fought with the attitude, take no prisoners. Garner on the other hand displayed a strong defense. He showed hands held high elbows tucked into his body to try and maximized protection to himself. Somewhat regularly as Velequez poured on his aggressive offenssive Garnes would fire back with powerfull counters to let him know I am not hurt and still in the running for a win. Plus in the dual strategy Garnes had to be hoping Velequez would tire which he did not. In the 2nd and 3rd rounds especially huge non stop back and forth multipunch major power punching trades took place like two dozen punches thrown by each fighter non stop at one time! It was an incredible display to watch. When the smoke cleared the fact that Velequez was the more aggressive fighter of two aggressive fighters that is what got him the W.
This fight seemed to potentially share the honors for "Fight of the Night". A spectacular proformance by both warriors.
9th Fight Amateurs:
175 lbs. - 3 Rd's (2 min.)
Josh Dent / Ron Humbert
Two shorter thick Lt-HeavyWt's. going at it in this confrontation. First round was moreless a feel out round where Humbert threw more punches than Dent. Second round Dent started to open up more with his offensive. One major problem with Humbert was he could not keep his mouthpiece in his mouth. Within the last two rounds Humbert lost his mouthpiece about a half dozen times. After the fourth time the mouthpiece came out Referee Tim Shipley deducted one point from him. Neither guy could really ever get off delivering the fight that they really wanted to deliver to the fans. You could not help but sense frustration from both mens style clashing.
After the fight was over Dent remained cool calm and collective while Humbert was bent over breathing heavy. Josh Dent was announced the winner.
10th Fight Amateurs:
160 lbs. - 3 Rd's (2 min.)
Richard Violet / Demitree Turner
This fight was put together hours prior to show start. Both these men were scheduled to fight and both their opponents backed out. Last minute arrangements by Matchmaker Mike Murray pitted them against eachother. They both are from the same gym and are friends to boot. Very few punches landed even though the potential for major KO bombs could of been thrown. Richard Violet was announced the winner.
11th Fight Professional Boxing
Main Event:
For ABF Cruiserweight Title Belt
8 Rd's (3 min.)
LUCAS ADAMS UD8 MIKE MANNA
MANNA now 6-3, Pittsburgh, PA dropped significant weight in short time and LUCAS ADAMS now 3-1-2 fighting out of Butler, PA gained weight for this fight (key factor: MANNA lost more weight than ADAMS gained). Second important variable MANNA 39 years old and ADAMS 26 years old.
About two hours prior to weighing in the day before the fight I spoke to LUCAS ADAMS in front of the McLure Hotel in Wheeling, WV. LUCAS told me he thought he might have the edge in this fight due to weight situation variations. He was right.
This fight started for ADAMS the same way all his others fights do. LUCAS ADAMS offense is his defense, he makes his opponents chase him down. He likes being on his bicycle circling away from his opposition. Occasionally he will jump in and out and inbetween prod his opponent with his jab. Eventually that jab will turn into a quick combo etc. down the line slowly as the fight continues. A good strategy that usually works for him.
MANNA'S style as a HwyWt. and in this fight as a Cruiserweight was starting aggressively coupled with caution working the jab while moving forward looking for that moment to administer his proven crushing right hand. All that went to his fights as a HwyWt. were anxious to see if he had it at Cruiserweight. Unfortunately for MANNA he did not have it the same. The longer the fight went it became hard reality. In the 8th and final round a KO was mandatory for a MANNA victory and MIKE did step it up but ADAMS style and MANNA'S physical capabilities at Cruiserweight did not let it happen.
The younger heavier LUCAS ADAMS game plan worked. He ever so slowly turned it up as the fight progressed seemed to get stronger and quicker right up till the end of the fight.
Smoking Jim Frazier, commentator/ PA Announcer for this Main Event, bellowed out the results as only that man can do, " and new Cruiserweight Champion of the World... LUCAS ADAMS!". Immediately ABF representative Jaime Chesney wrapped the Belt around LUCAS ADAMS waist and now it was official. LUCAS ADAMS arms now reached for the sky.
