A hard no from me

A hard no from me

This week, something happened that really stuck with me.

Someone contacted my support team with a message so awful, so full of hate, that it took me a minute to process. But the worst part?

This person is actively trying to build their name as a public speaker—sharing their life story to “inspire” others.

Publicly, they want to be seen as a role model. Privately, they’re sending abusive messages.

That level of misalignment? Impossible to hide forever.

And while this is an extreme example, it got me thinking:

Where else do we see these subtle disconnects in branding, in business, and in how we show up?

Because whether we realize it or not, these small misalignments create friction. And friction makes it 10x harder to show up online with confidence.

I know I can do better in a lot of these areas ????

???Are you posting high-energy content online but running errands in baggy clothes, hoping not to be seen?

???Do you want to connect with people online yet avoid eye contact in your local coffee shop?

???Do you lurk online and not comment on anyone else's post, yet hope people engage with you?

When there’s a disconnect between how you present yourself and how you actually show up, you start second-guessing yourself.

"Who am I today?"

"Who am I in this context?"

And suddenly, creating content, building a brand, or showing up in your business feels harder than it needs to be.

(SIDENOTE: If you’re someone that usually takes offense from other peoples bad behaviour, why not choose to thank them instead for providing inspo for your upcoming content ??)

Showing Up as an Aligned Expert

Funny enough, this same lesson showed up twice for me last week.

Inside Booked Out Brand, we had a masterclass on personal styling with the incredible Tara Castellan, and the biggest takeaway?

?? You need to own your personal style.

?? You need to own your message.

?? You need to own your personal brand—so it’s aligned with who you actually are.

Because when your brand matches the way you live your life, everything gets easier.

???? Showing up online stops feeling like a performance.

???? You’re not “switching” between different personas.

???? You’re just being you.

Want to Build a Brand That Feels Like You?

Here’s a quick stat to remind you why this matters:

74% of Americans are more likely to buy from, do business with, or recommend to friends an individual who has an established personal brand.

Even more interesting? 58% of people are willing to pay MORE to work with someone who has an established personal brand.

So let’s be real…

? Want more and better clients? You need a personal brand.

? Still hiding and not showing up? That’s another day of not building this asset in your business.

If you KNOW it’s time to finally get your message out there, you need to be in my upcoming masterclass, where I’ll teach you exactly how to build a profitable personal brand in 2025.

?? CHATGPT HACK:

I shared this on my stories last week, and it’s a goodie: Tell ChatGPT the biggest challenges you're having in life & business right now. Then, ask it to generate 10 mantras you can write out on sticky notes and leave around your house. Small shifts = big mindset changes.
