Happy World IP Day

To everyone around the world, today is World IP Day, a day where we can appreciate the advantages of IP to Society. Some may have differing feelings on this, but the advancements in Science depend heavily on the IP laws. Authors and writers depend on IP laws. Companies and their brands depend on IP laws. Our very lives and livelihoods increasingly depend on IP laws, as technology and innovation accelerate.

The theme this year is the role of women in innovation and creativity. In the course I teach on the history of technology and innovation, many women figure prominently, from Marie Curie, Hedy Lamarr, Grace Hopper, and the many, many other women who have driven change and are shaping the future. I well know because I represent some.

I, for one, am honored to be an IP professional, and help my clients navigate these rather abstract laws in these complex times with intricate innovations abounding.
