Happy Women's Day | Nike Reintroduced the Air Max Verona

A few years back, Nike honored International Women's Day by releasing an Air Max shoe designed just for women's feet.

The shoe was renamed Air Max Verona after the release in 1992 with a lovely pastel pink-and-blue or pink-and-green leather upper, as well as Air Max 200 soles for more great walking and jogging comfort.

International Women's Day is a day to honor women's social, economic, and political achievements, reflect on progress, and demand gender equality. International Women's Day has brought attention to concerns impacting women worldwide for over a century.?

Only about 15% of the world's countries have a female leader. Women make up only 24% of senior management positions, and 25% of organizations have no female executives.?

Women work in the lowest-paying jobs and earn less for the same work. The gender pay gap is widening for young women in several countries.?

Women are more likely to be the primary caregivers and do most of the housework. These issues are more prevalent among women of color than among white women.

The Long and Illustrious History

In 1908, 15,000 women in New York went on strike over low pay and deplorable working conditions in the factories. The Socialist Party of America had a National Women's Day.?

A year later, a conference on equality and women's right to vote was held in Copenhagen, Denmark. The idea expanded in Europe and became International Women's Day (IWD) for the first time in 1911, with the United Nations declaring March 8th as International Women's Day in 1975.

We at Trademarkia believe in gender equality, and to commemorate International Women's Day, we are using pink to convince women that we care. We are looking forward to a world free of bias, stereotypes, and discrimination.?

Being a woman, you're enough, thousand times enough!

Happy International Women's Day!
