Happy Spring from Minds Matter Seattle
Minds Matter Seattle
We help students from low-income families succeed in college, create their future, and change the world.
As we start seeing the promise of longer days ahead, Minds Matter is also looking forward. We are delighted to have resumed our in-person sessions at Seattle University, and love getting to see students and volunteers return to the classroom on a semi-regular basis. We continue to offer hybrid sessions to provide flexibility as we all continue to navigate the pandemic, but we are grateful to see so many faces from our community each weekend.?
While our students are as busy as ever preparing for their spring and summer activities, our Board of Directors is working tirelessly to hire a full-time Executive Director. We have received a number of extraordinarily high quality applicants, and are actively reviewing and considering each one to make sure we hire the best possible leader. Thank you for your support in making this enormous step for our organization possible!
We are also looking forward to the return of our spring fundraising event, with this year’s theme being Writing the Next Chapter. As part of GiveBIG Washington, we will hold a virtual fundraiser over two weeks between April 19th and May 4th to raise money for our student programs.?
Lastly, this time of year is often one full of nerves for our students. Our seniors anxiously await college admission news and our juniors and sophomores have their fingers crossed about summer program acceptance. And everyone on the team is full-steam ahead supporting scholarship and financial aid applications. To celebrate and appreciate our student, donor, and volunteer community, we will host a casual, in-person event tentatively planned for May 7th at Optimism Brewing in Seattle. Mark your calendar and stay tuned for more details!
