Happy Soul Sunday- Holy Endurance!

Patient endurance is what you need now, so that you will continue to do God’s will. Then you will receive all that he has promised. (Heb 10:36)

What is Holy endurance? It is when the Holy spirit gives us internal power to endure. This is in part about the last 16 months. We have endured and persevered much more than we ever thought possible. In fact, if the truth be told, no one really could have predicted the extent of this global pandemic and the impact it has made on us?emotionally, physically and mentally.?But I thank God for Holy endurance.?For I now know I can overcome, endure?and reach the deepest desires and dreams I may have believed were impossible in the past. Now I truly know that there is a God that sits high upon his throne and is looking down and seeing after not just me but this entire world. I am still here and so are you, and no, it's not an accident.?

Holy?is that which is regarded as sacred, or able to convert a sense of the divine.?The Holy Spirit is the third person of the trinity, and constitutes the eternal Godhead.?He is scared, spiritual and pure, sinless, deserving deep respect and awe.?

Endurance?is defined as the ability to last; to stand or withstand pain. To persist, remain, exist, be able to stay, carry on, live on, go on, hold on, hang on, keep on, linger, outline, hold out, never say die, stick to it, ride out. It is also fortitude, but mostly, it is long suffering, which is a fruit of the Holy Spirit.

Oftentimes when I think of endurance,?I think of how we can bear the pain and fatigue we face. To endure means to patiently wait on God and hold onto His promises. In other words, holding on to God’s unchanging hand, and holding on to Him in the midst of our present and past circumstances, and those yet to come.?

Endurance is not knowing what lies at the end of the staircase but trusting God that God has already worked it all out in our favor. Endurance is knowing that God will and can do anything but fail. In Heb 12:7, we find these words… What you endure disciplines you: God is treating you as daughters and sons.??

Endurance is about fixing our eyes on Jesus, the pioneer and perfecter of our faith. For the joy set before Him, He endured the cross, overcoming its shame, and sat down on the right hand of the throne of God. If you don’t endure… you get nothing if you do nothing.

In other words, perseverance is playing offense, while endurance is building on the defense. To preserver is to move against the odds, while endurance is to stand firm despite the odds coming at us. But we must remember that neither one is better than the other because we are called to simply obey the Holy Spirit’s leading in every situation. Is there anyone you know who is facing a difficult situation right now? Encourage her?or him and pray for that person to be sensitive, (maybe it's you) who needs to be open to hearing the Holy Spirit’s leading, especially during this time.?May you lean into, may you succumb to, may you be ever led by the leading of the Holy Spirit and endure and persevere.

Let us pray...Dear God, it’s me____________, in the need of prayer. Give me holy endurance and perseverance every day.?Lord, continue to be my guide and my protector. Lord, you know my beginning from my end and all the steps in between. Lord here and now I trust you for the way from here to there. Lord, God, I know there is a promise you have in store for my life. This is the place you have prepared just for me. For I know not any way that doesn't include you.?Then Lord, will I know that my way is blessed and that I am in your very care?and keeping.?For this is my prayer in the name of Jesus,?Amen, Amen, and Amen!
