Happy and Safe Labor Day Weekend 2020

Dear Friends, Clients & Colleagues, 

As always, we hope our brief Labor Day reflection finds you and yours well.

The Labor Day weekend traditionally marks the end of summer. Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, this Labor Day will take on a very special meaning.

Millions of our fellow American workers are hurting -- furloughed or lost their job because of the pandemic. Small-business, mom-and-pop shops across the country are fighting to survive. Young people face more uncertainty than ever about their futures.

Marile and I recognize and thank all who tirelessly labor -- helping neighbors, front-line healthcare and charity workers who feed, house, educate, and nurture those impacted by the pandemic.

There may not be parades this year or large family gatherings to help us celebrate this special holiday, but we nonetheless pause to honor the dignity of America's working families.  

We are heartened by the promise of Psalm 128:2 --

 "You will eat the fruit of your labor; blessings and prosperity will be yours."

Marile and I remind our children that all people have an opportunity for economic advancement that comes from an honest day's work, and are entitled to fair and equal pay -- both men and women.

On this Labor Day, we rejoice on the undeniable truth that -- the strength, prosperity, and well being of our country lies in the work of so many whose "honest toil" helped build this -- the greatest Nation on earth. 

Today, we are thankful for our professions, careers and jobs, and pray for the nation's unemployed, that they may soon re-join the workforce.

In observance of Labor Day, our Law Offices will be closed on Monday, September 7th. Normal office hours will resume on Tuesday, September 8th.
