Helping Medical Device Companies go 'from Concept to Clearance'
I am happy to return again this year to California State University at Fullerton's College of Engineering and Computer Sciences "Professor For a Day" Program. This year, I held session in the Computational Bioinformatics course of Professor Sean Wang.
The students in the 400 class were all exuberant, interactive and open to career options and paths - and messages - to help in their decision-making. It was an extra special event in that my 30+ year background in In-Vitro Diagnostics played such a vital role with this particular class curriculum. Computational Bioinformatics is a key science and application for reassembling the human genome once our systems disassemble and sequence all the DNA fragments of the target genome. It is no longer an abstract math course, but one of fundamental application that will apply to healthcare and forensics now and for generations to come. Genomics is germane to early detection of genetic mutations and disease state.
Good luck to the CSUF graduating class and to all the engineers ready to change the world! Many thanks to Xiong(Sean) Wang Mike K. Alex Choperena Susamma (Susan) Barua and Assoc. Dean Sang June Oh
