Happy Police week PoPo! We received a gift today from the IRS that will benefit You and our Communities! (So there, Nay Sayers)

     When we developed the Adopt A Cop mentoring program in November 2015, more than a few people told us "the IRS doesn't like 'conservative' missions" and anything that benefits the police would be considered "conservative." What? I said. Conservative? What in the world does that mean? We are not religious or political, we are just people who saw a need to bridge the widening gap between Law Enforcement and Communities, the need to combat bias media and the need for healing and strengthening of the relationship between the two.

How is that "conservative".....umm, but OK.

So how could we do all that we envisioned?

By communicating and bringing Law Enforcement and Communities closer together through youth mentorship. 

We (and thousands of others) want our police forces to know we care about them, their safety, their welfare, their families, and the ones they've lost. We wanted our young kids to know our cops, that they care about them, their families and their safety and that they are friends in the Community....and they will be there when they are needed. Hundreds of parents, teachers, cops and kids agreed. 

The nay sayers continued to nay say...."the IRS wont agree", they said. "It will take a minimum of 9 months to a year to get an approval, if ever", they said.

Well, good thing we were too ignorant about the process to listen. Today, I am thrilled to announce that our organization has been approved as a tax exempt 501C3 in less than 90 days. No attorneys, no rocket science or begging, just a few passionate people going forward with an idea....and an oddly? cooperative IRS. We are now able to receive tax free grants and contributions from businesses and the federal government which will directly benefit our cops and kids, beginning here in South Florida. We wont stop until Adopt A Cop is in every County in the Nation. 

Our mission is to help heal and strengthen the relationship between Communities and Law Enforcement. If you Adopt A Cop, we can Help a Child....and an entire Community.
