In dealing with people we come across in life, we easily judge others based on their actions and words. If you could observe your own actions, words, and thoughts like a third person looking at you, you would get to know the real you. Becoming aware is always the first step. Then you have a choice to do what is right rather than what may seem beneficial in short-term. Because there is karma who would return the favour.
The second important thing is to accept that everything changes. And whatever is giving you happiness or sadness is bound to change. The external world is ever changing. The important thing is to accept it and think what can I do in the given situation. When we blame others, we just keep our ego intact that i am the better one or the hard working one. It doesn’t change the present result and robs us of an opportunity to change the future result as well since I don’t have to do anything differently and this failure was because of someone else.
It doesn’t require the deep knowledge of Buddha's teachings to understand the building of an inner world. Each person has a mind and the capacity to know. Knowledge is the structures of the inner world. Without knowledge the mind is empty and happiness is non-existent. The real fact of the matter is that happiness cannot be felt without knowledge. True knowledge is a source of happiness. Consider the enduring happiness that comes from certitude. It is far different that the fleeting pleasures that come from material experiences.
We always look after the inner and the outer, our relationship to ourselves and, our relationship to ‘everyone and everything' we depend on in this interdependent world. To live our lives together, requires wise reflection and, the care of all sentient beings - the living Earth. But why is this the case? It is because we need a habitable world to practice the teachings of the Buddha that were given to us - as human beings.
Human beings are inhabitants of planet Earth and therefore the people are coming to us with anxiety about the losses and changes that are occurring with climate change. It is important to pause and consider what actions we can take that extend loving-kindness to people across oceans, as well as the unique species of our local waters and landscapes,” he said. When Ajan Brham, a famous Buddhist thinker and philosopher what he meant was "earth was our common home, for all people, creatures and eco-systems”.
Joseph Crowe, the Mahayana Buddhist movement says "Buddhism teaches that how we orient our minds can have a lot to do with how external reality appears to us. For example- we can think that everything is personal, so long as we refuse to acknowledge the way the human condition is. We’re born with dispositions due to karma that are no more our fault than needing food or sleep."
Live simple life and in your simplicity live magnanimously. The simple you become the magnanimous you should be. Do not mind the noise of this world as it will only matter if you give in it to matter. Happiness is always a conscious decision. You can even buy happiness, however with joy, you need conscious effort to make it your conviction to be by simply accepting truths. The truths that you build and discover for yourself. Your life has its own philosophies and you need to absorb them before you tell others to follow your thinking. Stay blessed! #kishoreshintre
