Happy New Year.....2020
11:43 P.M., Denver, Colorado, New Year's Eve, 2019....I just got up from my knees and have once again asked our God to fill me with His Holy Spirit, His love, His thoughts, His guidance and encouragement and to provide me with His words and inspiration. I don't know how much of this article will be mine and how much will be His. I know I have asked for help.
I spent since Christmas eve to earlier tonight in a place where I had more time to read God's word. I read, what was described s a forty day quick version read of the bible I was reading. I did that in three days and then read the first there chapters of God's truth again as well. It's nearly the year 2020. New Year's Day is for many a time when we make new resolutions and set new goals. I know personally, I could never hit a target I could not see. The following are my goals and thoughts for the new year.
I ask you Lord, to help me serve your government more and my government less. What I mean by that is that, please Lord, help me to see things more through your eternal perspective and less from my limited view. Help me to surrender more and fight less. Help me to get out of my own way. I ask you to really help me be less like a Republican, a Democrat, or an Independent, and help act more like one of your adopted son. Help me to forgive myself more and in doing so become more forgiving of others. Help me to do like that comment I read here on LinkedIn, "Help me not to raise my voice but get a better argument." You be my argument Lord, I trust You. Help me to act more like it. You know I have some immediate challenges. Help me to remember the more I choose to serve you with all I have, help me, prepare me for the attacks that will most assuredly come my way. Help me to fully realize you are my rock, there really is power in the name of Jesus Christ. I enlisted, I await your direction. Help me to go there, through there, trusting you Almighty God. Lord, I ask you to help me recognize an unseen enemy that tries to separate us from one another. Help me to know you alone are the glue that can hold us together. Love must be our weapon. For our God is love. Help me to be more forgiving knowing, "He who cannot forgive breaks the bridge over which he himself must pass." Help me not to hold onto anger and resentment also knowing doing so is like urinating on my foot, "I'm the only one who feels it." Help me to be more like you and less like me. Help me to practice and share your unconditional love everywhere in 2020 knowing it is the greatest of these.........
