Happy New Year... Happy New You....?

Hello my beautiful friends, after a couple of weeks break, I'm back and fired up to take the next steps to grow my business.... isn't that what New Year is all about?

It's something I've heard time and again, and been doing myself year on year. Creating vision boards, buying a new diary, a new notebook, getting excited, making plans, new visions, dreams, resolutions....

Sorry to burst the bubble and be a bit of a bah humbug but for many people, the mere fact that they've survived the Christmas break, the over indulgence, family dramas, kids at home, reminders of a failing marriage (often the reality of xmas hols) are quite enough, thank you.

I won't go into the whole resolution thing either as we all know they mostly don't work. I mean, whoever decided making resolutions to sign up for an expensive gym membership and lose your Christmas weight by the end of January was a good idea, needs a good talking to!

What the new year is really about...

Look, I love the whole idea of a new year, new start but you don't have to wait to the new year to do that. You can make a new start at anytime of the year.

Here are some tips for what you can do with your new year:

  1. Forgiveness - if you've had a bit of a turbulent Christmas or 2022 in general, then spend sometime with yourself. Give yourself some self-care, self-love. Talk positively to your soul and your heart. Love who you are now. Appreciate all you have and forgive the past. Forgive yourself and others so you can let go of 2022 and enter into 2023 with an empty suitcase, ready to fill with new experiences.
  2. Take your time - Don't rush this whole new year planning thing. Take a breath. Go for a walk. Do some breathing exercises - try the 4,7,8 method. Breathe into your belly for 4, hold for 7 then breathe out for 8. Do this a few times and allow your body, mind and spirit time to adjust to the new year and the return to your routine. When you're ready, move to step 3...
  3. Spend a little time thinking about your future - even just a reminder of what you're working towards. I'm in the dream business so I always encourage this of my clients and this is always the starting point for any transformation. Create a vision of your best life but then actually believe you can have it so you have something to lift your spirits and keep you motivated to do things to move towards it.
  4. Make a pledge to yourself - instead of resolutions and goals and blah blahs, make a pledge, a promise, an intention that each day, you'll do something that will take you a step closer to your dream life, your future self. And if you don't do it everyday, don't worry. Just dust yourself down and start again.
  5. Treat each day like a new year - I have always lived by the believe that everyday is a new beginning. Use each day you wake to start over. Literally, start again. You've got this. We can't change what happened yesterday so let it go. We can't always predict what will happen tomorrow so stop worrying about it. Live in the present, live today and live your life in the knowledge that all is well and life is always happening for you.

Do your best today, that's all that is required of you. Give your heart space to guide you. Things may not always seem like the 'Happy New Year' everyone is talking about, but that's OK. Happiness lies within you and can be called upon at anytime. Allow yourself the space to cry, laugh, shout, be still. This is your life so live it on your terms.

Love this Hulya! Every day is definitely a new opportunity. I’ve been easing in gently this week and doing some nice things like buying flowers and going out for coffee
