I want to take a few minutes of your valuable time and express my sincere gratitude for everything you all mean to me. I appreciate your presence in my life.
So that you know, I have never been a big fan of New Year’s resolutions. It usually meant eating less after devouring everything (including lots of cookies – my boss at MetLife even named me “Cookie.” Tony, I hope you are doing well!!)) – or pretending to be exercising to prepare for the Summer Olympics 2024!
Here, I share my two cents with you about my feelings on prospects for 2024 and beyond:
Embrace the Change, Transform, and Thrive!!
Change has always been constant and will be a dominant factor this year. 2024 is a leap year. So, we have one extra day for us, the workabies. We have our presidential election upon us here in the USA this year. It means a lot to others outside this country as well.
Embracing the change is essential. We must wholeheartedly focus on the digital experience – it is not just about the economy or digital commerce. We will have to recognize the change in the ways we work. Working from remote locations has a new meaning for the current generation of knowledge workers, i.e., digital nomads. This change will redefine how we collaborate and innovate. It will require building trust with our employees, partners, clients, and business ecosystem. On June 01, 2005, I published a post, “Whom Do You Trust? Building Trust in Sourcing Relationships,” at Cutter Benchmark Review for Cutter Consortium. The concept I presented in that post can still help build unified, collaborative, innovative, globally dispersed teams. The change will also impact how we deal with environmental, social, and governance issues, risk management, and industry and government mandates compliance.
Transformation is a broad concept. We face transformation in both our personal and professional lives. Artificial Intelligence will have a prominent impact on every facet of our lives this year and beyond. Generative AI (or ChatGPT) adds a new dimension to how we work, gather information, and make decisions.
Adopting new and emerging trends and adapting to change may have some synergy but can be daunting. Whatever the case, business or digital technology transformation must foster innovation to accomplish success. A well-founded vision, consensus-driven strategy, and well-orchestrated time and resource management will be the cornerstone of our success.
So, the question is – what do I mean by “thrive”? And how do we thrive?
Cambridge Dictionary describes thrive as to grow, develop, or be successful. I gathered seven steps based on the lessons I learned while working with various businesses – from start-ups to small, medium, and large Fortune 100 companies over the recent years.
Here you go!
1.??? Build trust with our employees, partners, and vendors – trust enhances teamwork will prevail. We need to focus on our ecosystem. – whether we are developing products or providing services.

2.??? Innovate! Innovate! And innovate! Innovation will not happen in isolation – we must foster a culture of unity amid diversity. We need to instill and ingrain the tenets of DEI in our mindset.
3.??? ?Invest in our ecosystem and the community – it substantially improves our value proposition toward our customers, partners, and stakeholders – today and in the foreseeable future.
4.??? Create action plans and execute them –from the top executives to the ground-floor associates – everyone is a leader – and everyone needs to have an action plan –we all must be responsible and accountable to execute the plan.
5.??? Measure, manage, and monitor our progress – the only way we can determine if we are making any progress and to what extent is to establish a set of performance metrics and assess them periodically.
6.??? Join them if we can’t beat them – competition is everywhere, but it doesn’t mean we harbor animosity. For start-ups today, expounding on niche expertise or products may need to build partnerships or share knowledge and resources.
7.??? Recognize that our strategy is a work in progress – we align our business vision with our strategy, integrate our customers, employees, and partners with our strategic plan, and synchronize our alignment of business and technology transformation to our desired progress.
I hope these seven steps help you achieve your business goals in 2024. I am available to support you and advise you.
In case you are interested, here are two of my personal and passionate ventures for this year:
1.??? Innovation with Love – writing a book that presents my journey in my life (professional and personal) – and how Love makes a difference
2.??? Magic of music – Unite the world – this can be a lifelong project – as I have been a music enthusiast since my childhood – initially, I want to get our kids (aged six to twelve) involved in learning and choosing music over drugs, and violence
