I began 2022 pregnant and with a new job.?
A lot on my plate would be an understatement. It's one of those times when you see gender at play. A sobering reminder that no matter how driven I might be, I was not just one of the guys. I (and all women) are much more than that.?
Pregnancy is majestic and sacred. It is the closest we could get to a superpower.?
It's also immense pressure on the body, and mommy's brain is real. We show up while our body is shifting priorities, redirecting resources and energy to what allows us to take care of a newborn.
Imagine that in a new job.
It's a struggle, but one that is very much worthy of the fight. Just like so many women, I marched on carrying my baby girl while navigating a new work environment in the post-COVID era. The strategy was simple. Show up, deliver, seek help when you have to, and prioritize health and well-being.
It worked. 2022 was magnificent, filled with an adventure of a new job and a joy of a newborn.?
Cheers to all you working mothers who show up.
