So what better way to celebrate the New Year than sending out a newsletter to everyone I know on Linkedin???
For the first time I have gathered this awesome mashup looking backwards, a bit forward and a sprinkle of the here and now.?
Campaign tracking?
The current themes in digital analytics taking up my time are improving the quality of campaign tracking and attribution and in extension of that getting the data activated back into the system.
There is a lot of marketing budget getting lost right there - and so many places to get lost.
There is also a massive assuption across most organisations that that their tracking is okay, but the issue is that it often isn't.
There are to many other things is distracting the analyst from where the money is. Even if most organization actually have implemented digital and marketing analytics platforms because they want to monitor and improve their marketing to begin with.
The challenge is that I find that the importance and priority of the area is not reflected in the quality of the data.
And that costs.
Sure some companies goes the extra mile and that helps a bit, but most are not even close to they quality they think they have.
With Crome now removing 3rd party cookies, this is not getting better.
Especially because we have seen a difference in the impact between good and bad tracking is up to 40% return on the marketing budget.
So it's a lot.
And it's really simple to understand the problem..
If you had the same quality of data in your GPS as in your campaign tracking setup, you would most likely never be able to get home.
Good news are, it doesn't have to be like this.

I have also started teaching my third class on "Commercial Analytics Thinking" at IHM Business School in Malm?.
And on that note yesterday IIH Nordic for the 8th time in a row got selected as the best Digital Agency for Data and Analytics in Denmark by more than 1.000 Seniors and CMO from the large brands in Denmark.
As you might imagine it's honestly nerve wracking every year now, but such a huge kick when we receive the recognition again and again ??
