Happy New Year! As the calendar turns over, the first issue of 2025 covers industry trends.
While each new year offers hope and promise, the threat of destabilization across wine and spirits, and beer domestically and globally, is also on tap. Suppliers to sellers are addressing ways to innovate, mitigate, navigate and overcome, with a multipage feature addressing the range. View the full issue here or scroll through stories that are close to home.
More importantly, local voices weigh in on Connecticut trends, Rhode Island trends, wine predictions, prepping (as best as one can) for what's to come and more. When it comes to tastes, we see changing consumer tastes shaping bar programs and off-premise sales. Low-/no-alcohol offerings continue to rise and be added to shelves and bars, as consumer continue to seek the best of both worlds. Wine regions of lesser renown (not for lack of quality but recognition) are emergent. Brewers and the beer category overall are seeing turbulent times ahead, but, again, never underestimate the spirit of ingenuity and adaptation.

Association news from CPSA and RILOC keep retailers ready for advocacy and RIHA welcomes the year ahead too. Local is what we do best! See the month's seasonal local cocktail showcase, retailer profiles, Connecticut events and Rhode Island too. There is SO much I can't simply share it all. Honor the industry and take some time to see what your peers are up to.
