Happy New Year - 2023

As I step into 2023, I would also like to rewind the days in 2022 and reflect - I feel proud of many things I learnt and achieved! Apart from the blessings, support from family, friends and colleagues I was perhaps able to do a lot of things by practicing three things I learnt from my father.

1.????Discipline – It is not an easy choice, and it does take a while to get ourselves into a routine. But discipline creates a lot of effectiveness, efficiency, and a fortress of value. While we may be learning new aspects, with practice and discipline, we can certainly achieve impressive outcomes. Repeatability or sustaining those successes becomes difficult if we do not have a discipline. The power of discipline is exponential, especially when it is exercised over long periods of time. It gives a purpose and meaning to everything we do and as we step into a new year, ready to write in blank fresh pages, perhaps today is the ideal time to act of being disciplined!

2.????Precision – In an uncertain, ambiguous and changing world, precision may look to be out of place. The fact is that even with the limited information, the more precise we are, to more successful we will be. Creating an objective and specific goals enables us to focus on what we want to achieve. As we get more information, we can modify our goals. Precision helps us to make commitments and stick to it. It also helps us to communicate and demonstrate competence with confidence. It enables us to benchmark ourselves to high standards, at the same time, quickly understand mistakes and take course corrections. Precision helps to bridge between the big picture and the specific details. It is therefore important to leverage precision when we think, speak and act.

3.????Value Today – Each day presents itself as an opportunity to do things different and better than before. It gives us unique opportunities to add value to self-growth and to others around us. We are able to take actions to make the world a better place. The experiences from the past can be put to action today and as we gain more knowledge, we are able to perform better. It is another way to show gratitude to everyone who support us as well as make a unique mark in our lives. So, today I reflect before I start as to how can I create, improve, support and make a unique mark in the work I do today?

Gratitude to every person who has touched my life and wish you all a very happy, healthy, and prosperous new year!
