Happy New Year 2023 !!!
Short sweet message, love to share with all of you on this New Year Day!!!
FEAR- The Opportunity
How many of you have read Bhagwad Gita (Holy Indian Book)?
The very first lessons what Gita teaches us is to handle FEAR. If you have read Bhagwad Gita, the most talented Archer Arjuna, totally lose connections with his abilities due to FEAR to fight against his own family members. He does not run from it, neither bury his fear. He overcome his FEAR by facing it.
The same thing happens with us….the fear and anxiety disconnect us from our abilities. The reason is since early childhood we have been thought that FEAR is negative.
The truth is we will never live entirely without fear and anxiety. We cannot fix our economic, social and political climate to eliminate conflict & uncertainty. We need to accept this truth. The problem is fear makes us more anxious and then eventually hold us back from our true feelings. The longer we hold on to fears, the more they ferment until eventually they become toxic.
Fear is not bad; it is simply a warning signal, what might go wrong with the situation or person. What matters most is what we do with that Signals? FEAR can be opportunistic; it can motivate us to develop the appropriate solution for the problems. The task is to handle FEAR appropriately.
When we panic, we start to anticipate outcomes. Our fear are more numerous than our dangers and we suffer more in our imaginations than reality.

There is old story of a Farmer whose horse ran away. “How Unlucky” his brother claims. The wise farmer claims Good thing, bad thing, who knows? Few days back the horse found his way back to home and this time with beautiful wild Mare. Admiring this his brother says, “How lucky you are. That’s amazing”. Again the farmer says, Good things, bad things, who knows?
Few days later farmers son tries to climb on the wild mare. The wild beast bucks and rears the boy and he breaks his legs. “That’s bad” his brother claims. Good thing, bad thing, who knows, the farmer replied. Next day the young men of the village were called in to military service, but because the son’s leg us broken, he is excused from the draft. His brother stated “this is the best news of all”. The farmer still stands with his statement; Good thing, bad thing, who knows?
The farmer in this story didn’t get lost I “What IF” but instead focus on “what is”. Stop judging the moment.
The cause of FEAR is attachment. The cure of FEAR is detachment.
The very first thing you need to accept is FEAR is emotion and when we talk about our emotions, we usually say we are that emotions. Example I am angry, I am sad, I am afraid…Understand fear is something we are experiencing. Try shifting from I am angry to I feel Angry, I am sad to I feel sad, I am afraid to I feel afraid. Having this perspective calms down our initial reactions and give us space to examine our fear & the situation around it without judgement.
Again it is not possible to control all external event, but if you simply control your mind, there is no need to control any other things? The clear perspective is the key.
Detachment is an ultimate key in minimizing your FEARs.
With the onset of New Year day, wishing you countless learnings, endless knowledge and abundance wisdom. It's time to hit refresh as the New Year opens its arms with another 365 days for us to embrace.?Thanks
