Happy New Year 2023

Hello,

Wishing you a joyous 2023.

Here are my 5 top thoughts as we flip the calendards and step into 2023

  1. It's very important to network in 2023.

Your skills and capabilities are as much marketable as the number of people you know and are willing to go the extra mile to help you - who trust you and willing to bat for you in their system to get work for you

I am not saying that skills?and capabilities are not important - of course they are. If someone gives you a task for ESOP Valuation, you must be conversant with the techniques such as OPM Backsolve and BSM to execute the project well, else even if you get the assignment, you won't be able to execute it

One amazing part about the digital world is you can reach out to anyone and a lot of them are open to the idea of sharing ideas, discussing and having conversations. I have spent hours with juniors/seniors/peers and take their guidance

  1. Do not succumb to Peer Pressure.?

Society today wants to make you believe that it is so important to be a high achiever. A large house, a large car, a grand holiday, Even if it's a ‘rat race’, we must keep running. Throughout our life, we will keep saving Rs 10/20 and in a wedding, spend lakhs of rupees and in the end, consoling yourself saying ‘ wow - the event was conducted well’ . Who earns in the process - the caterers, the event planners, the interior designers. Ask yourself what really makes you happy. A lot of people ask me ‘How much you earn from YouTube and I reply - hardly anything - but I enjoy creating content. Some people simply love scrolling Instagram Reels-?Good for them - accept people as they are

  1. Health?

If you have achieved anything in life by compromising on your health, it simply isn't worth it. If you have been running on the Hedonistic treadmill and kept achieving, eventually going to a Doctor and saying - please take all that I have earnt but save me. The number of losses we have witnessed in the post Covid era - people in their 20s,30s and 40s succumbing to either Covid or post-Covid complications. So, to repeat, if you have achieved anything in life by compromising on your health, it simply isn't worth it.?

  1. Spend time with your near and dear ones.?

It should not happen that your entire life whizzes past you and you realise you haven't spent time with your kids - haven't seen them grow up, haven’t talked much to your parents. It is important to live a balanced life. Your bosses are most likely to forget you after you quit the job. But it is these near and dear ones, who will be outside the ICU waiting for you to come out safe and strong.?

  1. Main Naa Hota Toh Kya Hota (?????????????? ?????????)

A lot of people live their lives with the thought that the organisations that they work for would stop working if they weren’t involved 24*7. Imagine for a moment that you are dead, would this world stop. You will have to learn that these graveyards are full of lawyers who thought that without them , the courts wouldnt function , doctors who thought that without them, the hospitals wouldn't function. However sadly, they have moved on from this world and the show continues. So, for a moment, step back , take a deep breath and understand what exactly you want from your life. I should replicate the life of Rajesh Bhaiya/Mohit Bhaiya/Srishti Didi. Be a little thick skinned and live your life your way. Even if you fail, it's ok. That's destiny.??

What are your action points for 2023??

Would love to hear

Regards

Anurag

P.S. Would also love to have you in the 10 day workshop on Stock Markets. Had conducted this for 850+ students in 2022 and got quite satisfactory reviews

As you told health should be on first priority. We always think about our future. We don't know what will happen to next. So i think we should enjoy our present moment. We should give our 100% to what we are doing. If we do our best today, definitely our tomorrow will be the best.
