Happy New Year - 2017

Happy New Year - 2017

As we count down the hours and minutes to 2017, many of you will be setting goals or making new year resolutions. For many women, this is a process they go through every year but then get to 31 December and are still no further forward with what they want to achieve.

The problem with setting goals and making new year's resolutions and not achieving them, is, we are creatures of habit and like to stay with what is familiar and what we know, even if it is not good for us. There are so many obstacles that get in our way, most of which are down to our own personal self, and we often blame it on external factors.

We tell ourselves we don't have the money, we are not clever enough, we don't have the time, we were never encouraged as a child, there is too much to do, no one is interested in what I have to offer, there are too many barriers and so on and so on...

Fear of failure, fear of success, fear of rejection, overwhelm, perfectionism, believing we're not good enough, are often what it all boils down to. And at the root of our insecurities is the desire to be loved and our wanting to survive.

When we feel secure and believe that no matter what, we are going to be ok, and that yes, we are good enough, we don't give up. If there's an obstacle, we find a way to get over it, through it, round it, or we change direction. We find a way to smash through that glass ceiling.

It is ok if you fail or fall along the way to achieving your ambitions, you are incredibly resourceful and have it within you to pick yourself back up and carry on. It’s all part of the journey and the learning experience. It is all part of personal growth and it helps to keep us humble, grateful and appreciative when we do finally achieve success.

If you believed that you ARE good enough and that no matter what, you ARE going to be ok, what would you be striving for in your career, business or personal life?

What needs to change in order for you to believe it and for you to take that step, and what can you do to make it happen?

What WILL you do to make 2017 the year that you ditch the limiting beliefs, pursue your ambitions for your career, business or personal life and finally make it happen?

Happy New Year and I hope that you all have a peaceful, productive and prosperous 2017!
