Happy National Burger Day! Here’s how to make better burgers...

When thinking of burgers, most will picture a greasy pile of beef and cheese. However, gourmet burgers are on the rise and staying away from fast-food burgers has never been easier.

Making your own burgers at home is an amazing way to treat yourself whilst knowing exactly what goes into your food. No more patties dripping with oil and additives, make way for better burgers without the guilt!

Ingredients:

-Cling film

-Lean beef mince

-Dijon mustard

-Onion powder

-Chilli powder

-Salt & pepper

-Olive oil

-Brioche buns

-Mature sliced cheddar cheese (optional)

-Preferred toppings (lettuce, tomatoes, onions, sauce, etc..)

Instructions:

-In a large bowl, use your hands to mix the mince with onion powder, chilli powder and Dijon mustard. Add salt and pepper to taste.

-Roll the mince into the palms of your hands to obtain a small ball (approx. 7cm wide)

-Repeat for each burger

-Wrap the balls into cling film sheets and platen them into patties with a pan

-Spread a very light coat of Dijon mustard on each side of your patties

-Heat up some olive oil into a pan and cook your patties on high heat for 45sec-1min each side

-If you wish to add a slice of cheese, melt it on the burger for the last 15-20 seconds.

-Place your patties onto brioche buns, add your preferred toppings and enjoy!

These tried and tested burgers are also a fun family favourite and make a healthier alternative to an occasional fast-food craving. They have only what you choose to put in them with no mysterious substances or preservatives which is key to our values at Inspire of eating well using fresh quality ingredients and in general living a healthier life.

Tuck in, enjoy, and have a Happy National Burger Day!
