Happy Law Day! 5-1-18

HAPPY LAW DAY! Yes, there is an official, federally recognized day to honor the rule of law by which we live. May 1 each year, since President Eisenhower made it so. The law states in part: "Law Day, U.S.A., is a special day of celebration by the people of the United States— (1) in appreciation of their liberties and the reaffirmation of their loyalty to the United States and of their rededication to the ideals of equality and justice under law in their relations with each other and with other countries...." The 2018 theme is "Separation of Powers: Framework for Freedom." Whether it always works well or not, the concept of each of the 3 branches of federal government checking on each other should be comforting.
