Happy International Women's Day!

March 8 is International Women's Day and it's a great day to reflect, amplify, and clap for all women!

This year's theme, #EmbraceEquity, seeks to get the world talking about why?"equal opportunities?are no longer enough" - and can in fact be?exclusionary, rather than?inclusive.

• Equality?means each individual or group of people is given the same resources or opportunities.
• Equity?recognizes that each person has different circumstances, and allocates the exact resources and opportunities needed to reach an equal outcome.

Gender is intersectional, and women as a group are truly diverse. Policies that benefit some women may not benefit all women and that should be continuously acknowledged in the corporate environment as it relates to DEI efforts. A shift from gender?equality?to the process of gender?equity?is required for?meaningful progress. My experiences may not be the same as the next woman's experiences and I for one find individuality beautiful.

Sojourner Truth reminded us all of that when she famously said, "Ain't I A Woman?" at the Women's Rights Convention in 1851.

I loved this year's signature pose of hugging yourself because it signifies how important it is that we take a moment to acknowledge and love on us first. Remember, you can not fill from an empty cup! You are your own best advocate and caretaker.

With that said, I hope all the women take a moment today to remember how amazing, phenomenal, and NECESSARY you are! This ecosystem of life could not exist without YOU.

Here's to STRONG WOMEN! May we know them, may we be them, may we raise them.
