Happy Humans of Momentum

In our?last edition of Happy Humans ?we met?Alex Anastasiou and Olivia Hudson from the Move and Join value stream.?This week we are excited to introduce you to Athi?Singh (Strategy Lead)?from our Stay &?Pay value stream.

Stay &?Pay?is responsible for delivering exceptional experiences during on-boarding, metering and billing which ultimately result in a customer paying us on time. Sounds simple right? Well it should be, but it is also a major stumbling block for pretty much every retailer – which is why Stay?& Pay is focused on smoothing out the process.

Here's what Athi has to say about his experience so far:

What makes you get out of bed in the morning?

Right at the moment the Football/Euro is what's doing the trick. I'm usually not a morning person to be honest, happy to stay up late into the night! So normally it's an alarm or my son that gets me up in the morning! :-)

We heard a rumour that you won the Momentum Energy Lockdown walking challenge in 2020, what is your secret?

During the lockdowns, we as a family had a daily routine after work and before it got dark to take the hour we had to go for walk. We'd count the rainbows drawings or teddy bears people left in their windows and had a chat about our day, the good and bad. Getting away from the screens and home schooling challenge was important for our sanity. Plus it helps that we don't have a car and I was the designated shopper of the family (and I have a treadmill!).

What excites you about your role and the work you do at Momentum Energy?

I'm a customer advocate and it's important to me to ensure the things I work on benefit the people that rely on us to give them great service. Momentum allows me to do that and people I have worked with at Momentum are motivated by this as well. I feel I fit in here.

You're part of our newly formed 'Stay & Pay' stream team, what are the benefits you're seeing of this new way of working?

Streams to me feel like a small start-up, getting great minds across different skill-sets together for a common goal. A mix of short sharp deliverables with consensus and a licence to speak up at all levels from different teams to steer us in the right direction, or pivot quickly if we stray. Lots more work to be done still and I hope to contribute, challenge, learn, and improve.
