Happy Hour Insights
Happy Hour to you whenever you start and however you participate. First off, THANK YOU! Whether we work directly together or not, you are influencing the lives of someone (likely many) in a positive way and working hard at it right now. Second, I enjoy insightful conversations and articles, and since we are safely not getting together, I thought I’d share some with you via a post.
· Workers Don't Want to Return to Offices. Start Preparing Now (from Inc.com 5.6.20) – a new survey from IBM released last week shows that, for a majority of Americans, remote work is here to stay. American's aren't going to be interested in going back to work. At least, they aren't necessarily excited about going back to work in an office. According to the survey, 54 percent of Americans want to keep remote work as their primary mode of work, and 70 percent say they'd like it to at least be an option. WOW! Insightful article that will get your wheels spinning.
· Tales of COVID-19 – The Covid-19 pandemic has placed homes, governments, businesses, providers and many more into a state of chaos and uncertainty that we’ve never seen before. As companies of all sizes were faced with knee-jerk reactions to the pandemic, technology has never been more crucial to our survival. Malicious groups always tend to leverage times of hardship, and times of reduced onsite staffing to increase their attacks. Any of these current top issues creating havoc for you?!
o Increased phishing attacks
o Targeted spear phishing attacks against key employees at an organization
o Increased attacks against a customer’s web sites
o Increased traffic on customers web sites
o Attacks against their email infrastructure
o Attacks from known bad entities
o Increases in brute force attack attempts
o Acceleration to adopt cloud initiatives
· Solution Spotlight: Web Applications – one of the more frequent issues and concerns we are hearing from our customers right now is the increased traffic to their web sites and business critical-applications. From e-commerce to HR job sites to Outlook Web Attacks, etc., attacks have drastically spiked and you may not even know it. FortiWeb is crucial in protecting web sites, regardless of where they sit (on premise, AWS, Azure, etc.), and is Recommended by NSS Labs.
If any of this sparks interest for you, don't hesitate to reach out for a conversation or Zoom session!
Cheers,
