2023 – a year that further highlights the need for urgent change! In this time of global turmoil and economic uncertainty, it remains vital to further and strengthen our commitment to social sustainability.

Ensuring that we have an equitable and inclusive environment will bolster our resilience against these ongoing challenges and hopefully mitigate them over time. This is why we are so grateful to see your increased involvement in our effort to promote social equity.

Empower Difference - SHE2023

2023 has marked a shift in our area of responsibility. At the end of 2022, SHE was reintroduced as Social — Human — Equity. By adapting SHE as an acronym we have extended our area of social responsibility while still remaining anchored in our initial mission to end gender inequality in the workplace. Our 2023 conference, rooted in the theme “empower difference” showcased this commitment to promoting the social dimension in ESG.

With impactful keynotes and panels discussions from Caroline Farberger , Salamatu Kamara , Nelson Ole Reiyia , Chirag Patel, Trisha Shetty , Kamilla Sultanova , Jason Liem , Jack Guinness , and many more – we have expanded and reimagined what social sustainability can entail.

Social sustainability and long-term growth are not mutually exclusive, but rather mutually reinforcing. A strong commitment to social sustainability is then not only the right thing to do – it also makes good sense from a business strategy standpoint.

The 2024 SHE Conference will as always be rooted in a holistic approach to social sustainability, but with an added dimension of implementing change through our Listen. Learn. Act (LLA) framework. This framework is grounded in the principle that fostering social sustainability requires a thoughtful and ongoing process of engagement, education, and tangible actions.

In a world where social sustainability is paramount, the Listen. Learn. Act. framework emerges as a powerful tool for driving meaningful transformation and long-term sustainable growth. This approach underscores the importance of engaging with stakeholders at every level, acknowledging their experiences, and taking purposeful actions to effect real change.
