Happy Holidays from EAA!

As we wrap up 2024, we would like to extend a special thank you to our team, friends, and business partners for being a part of such a fruitful year! We wanted to take a look back through all of our achievements this year and highlight some important events and milestones.

And of course, before we dive into our memories of 2024, we wish you all a wonderful year full of happiness, health and success from everyone here at EAA!

This year we started off the WAF season strong with 8 projects selected as finalists and 2 winning the prestigious WAFX award.

Following this, at the WAF 2024 event in Singapore we are proud to announce that Kü?ük?ekmece Djemevi won the Future Project of the Year award, marking a milestone in the Turkish architecture. At the festival, the design showcased architecture's capacity to critically engage with cultural, religious, and political issues, serving as an inspiring example not only for Turkey but also for the international architectural community.

Located in the Palase region of Albania, Green Coast Village is a new settlement being constructed with a master plan developed by EAA. Both La Vista Green Coast and Galeria By TEG, which opened in July, are key contributors to the vibrant life anticipated to flourish in the area.

As we move into the New Year, we are excited to see more of this development flourish with new announcements coming in the near future.?

This year, EAA acquired a new space located in the Istanbul Design Museum at Süleymaniye Row Shops. EAA A??k Kap? (Open Door in English) is a gathering space for design students, professionals, and enthusiasts.

This drop-in venue is designed as an interactive platform where you can ask any questions about design, share your ideas, and find inspiration.

Since its opening, EAA A??k Kap??/ EAA Open Door?has hosted visitors from various disciplines and countries, becoming a hub for sharing creative ideas and dialogues. Equipped with a large table, a box for leaving your notes, and a wealth of inspiring resources, the space also features the per se* exhibition, offering opportunities to explore different dimensions of design.

EAA A??k Kap? will continue to welcome you in 2025!

Throughout the busy year we also attended a wide range of events with various collaborators and academia.

Emre gave a number of lectures and speeches this year all of which were very well received, among them was Emre’s lecture titled NEGOTIATING OBJECTIONS BY TRACING THE SPECIFICS OF “CONTEXT” which was presented at WAF24 in Singapore, Share Architects in Venice, Seoul National University in Seoul and The Forum on Architecture, Spirituality, and Culture in Istanbul.

Other notable presentations by Emre this year include, Urban Resilience and Disasters presented at Aura Samet University, Scent of the Trace presented at Vienna University of Technology, and finally The Disruptive Power in Evolving Competition: New Technologies conference at Tüsiad Dijital Türkiye where Emre presented “Since it’s a Destructive Force, What Will We Do Now?”.

This year, for the first time EAA and Pulver published powder coating colour archive that showcases the colours of 22 EAA projects with a total of 30 swatches. We celebrated this collaboration in the EAA studio with the Pulver team.
