Happy Holidays from the Turkey Bowl at Farmington Hills Harrison High School in Farmington Hills, Michigan. In its’ 48th year, the Turkey Bowl debacle attracts up to 100 former Hawk gridiron veterans from 5 different decades each year on the day after Thanksgiving. Harrison has a record 18 State Championship appearances and a record 13 State Championship victories.?Head Coach John Herrington is the all-time winningest head football coach in Michigan history with 443 victories. Harrison has produced 14 players that have played in the National Football League including:?Drew Stanton, Mill Coleman, John Miller, Ricky Bryant, Nick Williams, Khalid Kareem, Devin Funchess, Aaron Burbridge, Chris Roberson, Nick Luchey and Michael Ojemudia.?A couple years back I was assigned to cover Ricky Bryant while playing defense.?Ricky has a Super Bowl ring from the New England Patriots as a wide receiver.?He is also 20 years younger than me.?That did not end well.?Five members of the 1979 squad appeared in this years event.?Two of them I have known since 3rd grade.?A great way to kick off the holidays!!!?
