Clothes made from recycled coffee grounds?&?'Reforestation Hubs' are saving urban trees from heading to landfills

Happy Good News! Enjoy the recent news happening all around the world???

Choices matter. Clothes made from recycled coffee grounds

In 2008, a Taiwanese company discovered you were able to use coffee grounds to make clothes. Sundried, has created a?collection where all the activewear is made from coffee.?

The benefits? Firstly, it's great for active wear as it's fast-drying?and de-odorising. The production doesn't require high-temperature treatment that other materials require which reduces CO2 emissions leading to a healthier?planet.

The used coffee grounds would usually go to landfill, however now you are able to reuse this material and create clothing.

If you are looking for some new activewear, check out?Sundried?or have?a look for other brands creating clothes from waste.?

'Reforestation Hubs' are saving urban trees from heading to landfills

The US is losing 36 million trees every year, creating economic losses of up to?$786 million. A large part of this loss is due to these trees being?considered “waste” and sent off to landfills.

“40% of this wood can be reused for furniture, flooring, outdoor play areas, mulch, compost, soil improvements, bioenergy, and even carbon sources for growing mushrooms,”?says J. Morgan Grove, a research forester at Baltimore Field Station, USDA Forest Service.

However, "reforestation hubs” are saving urban trees from heading to landfills by finding new ways to repurpose the wood. This has reduced?urban wood waste, saves money, helps increase forest cover, and most importantly, keeps carbon out of the environment.
